Nayantara Fonseka ('Taru') is the consummate artist. Her interior design & event management company, Taru i.e, has been shaping trends and receiving global recognition since 2002. From decorating homes and businesses to planning unforgettable weddings and product launches, Taru's unique sense of style and occasion have set the benchmark for creative excellence.
's greatest success has been the conception and management of her boutique hotels, with her vision and energy helping to provide the prototype for luxury villas in Sri Lanka. Her innovations have not gone unrecognized; international praise from travel industry experts Conde-Nast UK, Robb Report, the LUXE guides and Wallpaper magazines, have helped cement her place as a global pioneer in contemporary design of Sri Lanka beach villas. Yet despite all these industry plaudits, Taru's most treasured souvenirs are the happy memories and enthusiastic, effusive reviews left by her guests, many of whom have returned to relive their experience. Some have even become friends.
Taru's unrelenting passion for hospitality is best illustrated today by her eight luxury holiday villas. The Taru brand redefines luxury as we know it. At the foundation of every concept and each design is Taru's answer to one simple question - What would I want if I was here on holiday? Upon this foundation, she builds unique yet authentic Sri Lankan experiences, set pieces that celebrate rich histories, accentuate plush surroundings and allow for natural, immersive experiences. Opulent without being overbearing, indulgent but refined, your experience at Taru's villas will feed your appetite for plush living but allow your soul to breathe. She and her team invite you to come and experience it all for yourself.
