Yala National Park

Yala is Sri Lanka’s most famous national park. Situated 30 minutes away from Taru Villas Yala, the 979 sq.km park comprises of light forest, scrub, grassy plains and brackish waters, is home to an exquisite variety of wildlife. The park houses 44 species of mammals, including the wild Asian elephant and sloth bear; 215 species of birds; an innumerable number of reptiles; as well as the highest concentration of leopards in an area.
