Whether you choose to take in the multi-sensory experience that is a walk around the Fort and the greater township, or decide to spend a day paddling in the shallows around the ramparts, ‘Taru Villas – Lighthouse Street’ is the perfect place to relax and restore your energies without ever losing touch with the heart of this very special place. Just as East meets West at every turn, so too does modern luxury combine with antique splendor and charm at this heritage accommodation in Galle, Sri Lanka. The walls are adorned with priceless photographs of times gone by, maps that betray the rich and torrid history of the land and its people, and colourful modern art that cheekily reveals the pull of Ceylon’s traditional roots and the push of a modern, progressive Sri Lanka.

Yet Taru’s loyalty to the rich ancestry of this villa in Galle makes no compromise on luxury.

When you retire to your room you can rest comfortably in the knowledge that every detail has been considered. The famously plush beds guarantee a restful night’s sleep, and the powerful rain showers will beg you to stay another five minutes.

Witness the uniquely Sri Lankan custom of Stilt Fishing in the quiet ocean bays around Weligama and Galle.
Get close to nature with a day trip to Sri Lanka’s best loved National Park and discover exotic wildlife such as leopards, elephants, and bears. You may extend your visit with a safari stay at Taru Villas – Yala, our 2-bedroom private villa oasis.
