Ramona and Gish’s Wedding
In 2014, after evaluating a number of possible beach villa locations, Ramona and Gish, decided on Taru Villas Rock Villa to be the venue for their dream wedding. Having stayed there before and finding it a lovely, relaxing place they decided it was the perfect backdrop for one of the most important events they would ever host.
Ramona and Gish knew they wanted their wedding to be small, intimate, fun and to have the stunning Bentota beach as the backdrop. They also knew they wanted their wedding to be a warm, friendly and fun affair that reflected their personalities both individually and as a couple. “These were things we were sure of” Gish says “beyond that, we could do with some help and so we turned to Taru and her team to help plan and organise everything”.
On the uncertainty of using a wedding planner, Ramona remembers like it was yesterday, “Most people think that they are going to be bulldozed by wedding planners, especially by one with Taru’s reputation of striving for perfection, but, to our pleasant surprise we were met with a warm, friendly and creative approach from Taru and her team.” Gish adds “They listened to all that we wanted and then helped us meet these requirements beyond expectation. They were respectful of this being our day and a celebration of us with the people we love”.
In preparation for the day the team considered everything that they could include to make this day one which the couples’ nearest and dearest could enjoy and most importantly, Ramona and Gish as a couple could create the memory of their lifetime. “With regards to the wedding planning and execution, The Taru i.e. team delivered spectacularly creating an atmosphere that was welcoming and stress free”.
On the wedding day itself , the Taru team took away any stress the couple may have felt and “delivered, immaculately, with amazing attention to detail” they said, “the decor, lighting, cocktails and food were absolutely perfect” and in line with what the couple had envisaged. “The Rock Villa staff provided fantastic service, not letting a single glass go dry or stomach unfed”.
Having decided that they didn’t want a ‘sit down’ style meal, the Taru team came up with a selection of Sri Lankan Fusion canapés which were served throughout the evening and ended with a boxed Chow Mein at the end of the night. Ramona and Gish say their guests still talk about the “exquisite cuisine”, years later! The lovely wedding cake was also both “beautifully simple and delicious”.
The Taru ie team helped make Ramona and Gish’s wedding day even more joyous than they had hoped for by removing any stress they may have had on the day. Everything was taken care of, with Taru and her staff providing guidance behind the scenes, subtly prompting the couple at the right time and, most importantly, not letting them worry about a single thing. Many guests informed the newly weds that they enjoyed the wedding immensely – making the day an even more perfect memory. Even a spot of rain at the end of the evening didn’t stop the party – , it actually made it better!
