Weather In Yala

The weather in Yala averages between 25°C - 30°C throughout the year. The semi-desert environment of the park is generally hot during the day, and cooler towards evening.

Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the park’s most endemic creatures are advised to visit during the dry season which occurs from the month of February through to June. During this period, animals like leopards, sloth bears and elephants generally venture out from the shade of the thick jungles in search of water, which gives you plenty of opportunities to spot them.

The north-east monsoon brings heavy rainfall to Yala National Park between the months from September to December, and spotting animals can be harder!
